Organizing your Coupons: The Accordion File Method

Coupon Accordion Method
A popular method of organizing your coupons is using an accordion file.  These are very inexpensive and are available at most dollar stores or discount stores.  Some people use an accordion file to store their coupons until they can sort them and place them into their coupon binder.  Many small accordion file organizers are made for coupons and already have the categories preprinted on them.  This is a quick and easy method to use if you are just starting out in couponing.  Remember, couponing is flexible.  You can start with one method of organization and move to a different method as your couponing needs change.

Some people use a larger accordion file and organize their coupon inserts from the newspaper by the date they were published.  They do not clip the coupons, but store the entire insert in the file.  Then, when they want to use a coupon, they clip it from the insert.  This saves time in that you are only clipping the coupons that you are actually using.  Accordion files are also very easy to transport and carry with you in the store.

With the accordion file method, you can also easily choose to organize your coupons alphabetically or by expiration date.  You can also organize your coupons by the store you want to use the coupons in.  An accordion file is great to keep in your vehicle glove compartment to keep your restaurant coupons organized.  How many times have you gone out to a restaurant only to leave the coupon  home on the kitchen counter?  This way, your coupons are always with you when you need them.

As we have said many times here at couponers.com, find the organization method that works for YOU so you will actually use your coupons and not just create more hassle for yourself.  We  would love to hear your favorite accordion file organization tips!  Happy couponing!
